Investigating sleepdrops, the new scam discovered by the Forta Community. In Sleepdropping, scammers create ERC-20 tokens and send them to users’ wallets, making them appear as if they were transferred from a legitimate contract address. This is primarily done to lead users to a phishing URL where the real scam occurs, tricking them into transferring their assets to the scammers. Forta is developing a Sleepdrop bot to identify and flag these tokens, and advises users to be vigilant of airdrops and URLs contained in tokens, even if they seem legitimate. Discover the full breadth of the scam in Forta’s blog
