Balancer hack proves the bad guys are out there, but they are now under watch. The Balancer protocol was hacked last week after a vulnerability led to hundreds of thousands of dollars drained from its pools. The attacker exploited the pools using a flashloan vulnerability 38 times on three separate networks. Forta’s coverage just on the Optimism network clearly illustrates the attacker’s methodology and the need for major protocols to seriously invest in incident response.
