Plume Partners with Forta to Elevate Security and Compliance for RWA’s

Plume, a leading layer-1 for real world asset tokenization with over 180 applications slated to launch and $3 billion of available assets, is enhancing its security and compliance capabilities through a strategic integration with Forta Firewall. This partnership ensures robust protection against smart contract exploits and compliance breaches, enabling institutional investors to safely deploy capital within Plume’s ecosystem.

To achieve its mission of becoming the global hub for onchain real world assets, Plume needed a best-in-class security and compliance solution. By integrating Forta Firewall, Plume can enforce strict compliance measures, such as preventing transactions from OFAC-sanctioned addresses, while protecting applications from potential exploits.

The integration was made possible by the close collaboration between Forta and Plume’s rollup-as-a-service provider. This made Firewall integration seamless for Plume, and required no effort from their internal team. 

Plume will now benefit from Firewall’s industry leading performance, with a 99%+ detection rate, and less than 0.001% false positive rate. Plume’s users will be able to confidently allocate funds to protocols in the chain, knowing their assets are shielded from vulnerabilities and attacks.

How it works

Forta Firewall integrates directly into Plume at the RPC level. Most rollups have a public RPC that doubles as the sequencer RPC. Plume transactions are routed through this single entry point before going to the sequencer for ordering and execution. To integrate Firewall, Plume’s RaaS provider added a hook onto the Plume RPC that routes transaction details to the Firewall for screening.

Rerouting transactions to Firewall happens via a JSON API call. Transactions first pass through a compliance check before being screened by Firewall’s AI-based risk engine. Firewall returns a 200 message for transactions deemed low risk, and a 403 message for transactions deemed high risk (txs that received a risk score above the blocking threshold set by the Firewall user). High risk transactions get dropped at that stage, while low risk transactions get forwarded to the sequencer. All of this takes less than 80ms on average.
