Forta 2025: A Breakout Year for On-Chain Risk Management Infrastructure

December 18, 2025
TL;DR
  • Forta became the market standard for on-chain risk management in 2025, screening 700M+ transactions across major user’s chains.
  • Institutional adoption accelerated and the industry finally reached the institutional inflection point we’ve been anticipating for years, making real-time compliance and security essential.
  • Firewall delivered enterprise-grade performance with 99.99% uptime, sub-10ms latency, and cloud-agnostic dedicated deployments to some of the most important chains in the ecosystem, including Kraken Ink, Celo and Plume.
  • It expanded into a full suite of compliance, scam-prevention and AI-powered exploit-detection modules.
  • FORT governance matured: revenue now flows to the Treasury, minting was eliminated, and all historical vesting fully unlocked.
  • Forta enters 2026 as the trusted risk and compliance layer for next-generation financial infrastructure.

As 2025 comes to a close, it’s clear this has been a defining year both for Forta and for the broader crypto ecosystem. The industry finally reached the institutional inflection point we’ve been anticipating for years, and Forta enters 2026 with the technology, the adoption, and the momentum to become the foundational risk and compliance layer for the next generation of financial infrastructure.

Forta Firewall Became the Market Standard for Transaction Screening

2025 was the year Forta Firewall established itself as the leading on-chain transaction screening solution.

This year, Firewall screened over 700 million transactions on our user’s chains, and had days where it surpassed 8 million transactions.

Today, Firewall is integrated into some of the most important chains in the ecosystem, including Kraken Ink, Celo and Plume. The integration has become seamless, and does not require any dev work. Partnerships with leading rollup-as-a-service providers like Conduit, Gelato, Gateway, and QuickNode, among others, made it easier than ever for new chains to launch with strong compliance and security guarantees from day one.

Institutions Arrived On-Chain, with Risk Management as the New Priority

Regulatory clarity in major jurisdictions created a strong tailwind in 2025, and institutions accelerated their on-chain strategies at unprecedented speed.

This year alone, we saw not only continued adoption of crypto assets through ETFs and DATs, but also:

  • Rapid growth of stablecoin usage
  • Expansion of tokenized assets
  • Announcements of institution-led chains, such Robinhood’s L2, Arc from Circle, and Tempo from Stripe

Institutions operate in environments where compliance and real-time monitoring are non-negotiable. The challenge is enforcing those standards on infrastructure designed to be permissionless, decentralized, and instantaneous.

This is precisely where Firewall shines. Forta’s real-time monitoring and transaction risk screening transform blockchains from opaque risk surfaces into auditable, controllable financial infrastructure, enabling the same rigor and safety expected in traditional finance.

In short: on-chain finance cannot scale without strong security and compliance, and Firewall is becoming the foundation that makes this possible.

Enterprise-Grade Infrastructure: Reliability at Global Scale

2025 also strengthened Forta’s position as the only enterprise-grade, production-ready monitoring and screening solution.

Key milestones included:

  • 99.99% uptime across the year
  • Sub-10ms p95 latency
  • Deployment of a cloud-agnostic Kubernetes architecture spanning AWS and Google Cloud
  • Dedicated deployments with autoscaling for enterprise clients
  • Full support for Prometheus, Grafana, and Datadog for real-time observability

All this gives enterprises the reliability, resiliency, and transparency they need to confidently operate on-chain.

Firewall Expanded Into a Full Real-Time Screening Suite

Throughout 2025, Firewall evolved from a single threat detection capability into a robust suite of real-time security and compliance modules that enterprises can compose to meet their specific risk profiles.

Major achievements and expansions included:

  • Compliance modules with support for sanctioned addresses, OFAC one-hop screening, custom allow lists, and block lists
  • Scam modules detecting phishing contracts, fake tokens, and address poisoning campaigns
  • AI-powered exploit detection with higher precision, greater speed, and ultra-low false positives (1 per 5 million transactions)
  • MEV spam monitoring

Together, these modules prevented bad actors from operating on our users’ networks, blocked malicious transactions, ensured compliant activity, and protected end users from losses due to exploits and scams.

FORT Token & Governance

2025 was also a pivotal year for the FORT token and the governance structure of the network.

  • Firewall revenue now accrues to the Forta Treasury, creating long-term optionality for incentives, buybacks, or other community-driven programs.
  • FORT tokenholders passed FP-8 and eliminated token minting, cementing the community’s commitment to a hard cap on total supply.
  • All historical vesting schedules concluded, meaning every FORT is now unlocked. The only non-circulating supply is the FORT at the community treasury (currently 37% of supply).

On the governance side, the Council welcomed Kubi Mensah (CEO of Gattaca), following Tomasz Stanczak’s appointment as Co-Executive Director of the Ethereum Foundation.

Looking Ahead: 2026 and Beyond

After years of saying institutions were coming, they are now here.

And in 2025, Forta proved that it is uniquely positioned to serve them. The building blocks laid this year (category leadership in transaction screening, institutional adoption, enterprise-grade infrastructure) set the stage for significant growth in 2026 and beyond.

The shift to real-time, on-chain financial infrastructure is accelerating.

Forta enters the coming year as the trusted layer that makes it safe, compliant, and scalable.

Here’s to an even more transformative 2026.
