Forta’s MetaMask Snap enables accessible transaction screening for all. Last week MetaMask introduced Snaps, now Forta protection can be baked straight into your MetaMask wallet! Forta’s Snap scans every address you are about to interact with against Forta's massive database of scammers, past, present, and future. The Snap launched on day one as part of a partnership between Forta and the MetaMask team, install it now and safeguard your wallet!
Threat intelligence generated by Forta’s Scam Detector is now ready for your API calls. With the launch of Premium Feeds, Forta’s fully productized Scam Detector is the clear choice for wallets, compliance companies, and RPC providers looking to protect their users. With 15+ scam types covered across seven networks and tens of thousands of addresses flagged each month, your choice of threat intelligence should be clear.
Forta instantly flags Vitalik and Balancer hackers’ addresses in the most high profile scams of the year. If you had not heard already, Vitalik’s Twitter/X account was hacked last week! Thankfully, Forta's Scam Detector flagged the attacker as soon as they claimed their first victim. Separately, Balancer suffered a frontend attack this week and Forta flagged the address farming approvals 3+ months ago! In both cases, all those using wallets with Forta threat intelligence baked-in were warned about the attack. Unfortunately, not everyone’s wallets are safeguarded by Forta and several hundred thousand dollars were drained from user’s accounts across the hacks.
Proof of Quality: How to ensure your Premium Feed is up to snuff. In the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity, making informed decisions about security solutions is vital. While it’s easy to get swayed by buzzwords and high-level statistics, consumers need a transparent and objective way to evaluate the quality of security solutions. This proposed ‘proof-of-quality’ as described in Forta’s latest blog provides that clarity to the Web3 security space.
Tracking the Inferno Drainer, one of the biggest threats to Web3. The Inferno Drainer is one of the worst scammers around having drained $40M+ in TVL across 80K victims. Forta caught their latest scam after associated addresses executed ice phishing and sleepdrop schemes mimicking Aave, Paxos, Blur, and other Web3 projects. Forta’s Scam and Spam Detectors had great coverage across this attack, identifying all the addresses involved and discovering a user who lost $155k in a single transaction. For more on this nefarious scammer, check out Forta’s in-depth Twitter/X thread.
